"Last Sail" (framed)

This was one of those paintings that seemed easy but was a challenge. I wanted to get that last light that hits the rocks and turns them almost orange, and then also softens the sky and turns greens into burnt sienna. And I had about 15 minutes to get it. I didn't get it then, but later in the studio, I could. I'm happy with it now. This piece was done from my balcony in Stonington and is of the Deer Isle Thorofare. I think the frame (one of my favorites from Documounts) sets it off nicely.
