"Silver Lining #2"

"Silver Lining"
24x30
Contemporary maple frame
$740

I did this piece in a small size on site and then re-did it in the studio. I love this version, in fact it may be my favorite from the whole series. Though that is really hard to call! But this piece is unique in its coloring, and the feeling that comes through is of a magical silvery grey day. And it is still available....one of the few larger ones left. The teeny tiny person and boat give you the sense of majestic scale.

"White Hollyhocks"

"White Hollyhocks"

"White Hollyhocks"

286 in the series "A Year in Bloom"
Oil on prepared paper 6x8"
Genre: Floral
art only, no mat/frame
$110

If you haven't been to the National Historical Site of sculptor Auguste St Gaudens, you are missing something special. Beautiful grounds and gardens, Sunday concerts and the famous artist's sculpture studio has a fabulous pergola with this Pompian red wall that had tons of hollyhocks against it. I particularly liked the way these white ones showed up.

"A Year in Bloom" was a floral series that I did while I lived in Vermont. I created 365 paintings of flowers, with about 85% of them oils and the rest watercolor. The images were used to create series of cards and you can see them on line. This piece is part of the blue ribbon set, a set with strong reds and blues.  See the blue ribbon collection by clicking here. Single cards are also available; see them hereEach card has an individually hand-glued mini print of a floral from the series. Any image in one of the sets is available as a single, even if it is not yet on the store site; just e-mail me.lynne@lynneschulte.com You can read more about the series including my journal from that year, by clicking here.

Welcome to my new blog!

Hi to both new and old friends: I will now be posting a painting each day on the site "Daily Paintworks" Please subscribe to have these delivered to your inbox! Most of the paintings that are posted will be available for sale, either directly or by auction. I will be starting with my works from my "Year in Bloom" series. In this series I painted one painting each day on average. Many of these images are still available for sale and will be posted. Also, some of the pieces that have been sold are available as either single cards or in card collections, and you will be referred to the sale site by clicking on the link. It is a new adventure for me and I am hoping that a lot of my beautiful art will find a good home. They are getting tired of my storage area.
