"Anemone in Night Window" Oil on paper 8x6" Matted Archivally to 12x14 Genre: Floral $115 |
# 110 in the "A Year in Bloom" series. This mysterious mood piece makes you wonder what is happening here. My studio in Vermont was next to the railroad tracks and had tall old windows. I often worked past dark and loved anemones. One day I looked over and saw this reflection in the window. I thought it was very special.
"A Year in Bloom" was a floral series that I did while I lived in Vermont. I created 365 paintings of flowers, with about 85% of them oils and the rest watercolor. The images were used to create series of cards and you can see them on line. This one is part of the magenta ribbon set, a set of 6 different blank cards that are all in a mood of brightness and elegence, like this one. Each card has an individually hand-glued mini print of a floral from the series. You can purchase sets and single cards and read more about the series including my journal from that year, by clicking here.
