Framed "Silver Roof in Sunlight"

Silver Roof in Sunshine
Oil on Panel
11x14
Gold Frame
$375

I am still at Plymouth Notch, home of President Calvin Coolidge. Here is another nearby house. It has that amazing metal standing seam roof that works so well in a snowy location. And Plymouth Notch is VERY snowy! I was taken with how it glimmered in the sun!

Framed "The Red Roof"

The Red Roof
16x20
Oil on Canvas
Gold Frame
$575

I'm back painting in Plymouth Notch, VT, again. I love this place! This is the view with your back to Coolidge's home, and at one time it was his grandfather's farm, I think. The pond was a great reflector and the golden light just flooded everything. I like the way the distant hill went all purple; it really did that. This painting is the largest one from the travel series.

Framed "Two Barns"

"Two Barns"
11x14
Oil on Panel
$375

I was painting in the Woodstock area in the fall, looking for just the right spot. I found it in Plymouth Notch, the home of President Calvin Coolidge. This place had it all: beauty, foliage, comfort (restaurant and bathroom), parking, and people who would stop and take a look. Plymouth Notch is an entire restored village with multiple buildings including the home the president was born in, another that he lived in as an adult including the room in which he took the oath of office, barns, church, and many others. The air was golden with the last glory of autumn. These buildings are two barns belonging to his family and house agriculture artifacts of the time. I loved all the openings, especially the one that allowed me to see right through and to the field and mountain behind it.
